A Surprising Story on Surrender

Most of the time, given the scope and topic matter of this website, I try to keep my focus and content mostly in the Catholic world or on Catholic people. But seeing as this section is intended to be a weird jotter for me to riff on, and we're all supposed to be mature adults here, I want to talk about a story from outside of Christianity today.

Because it still taught me something about hope and surrender.

In some of my more academic interests and studies, I do tend to come across various aspects of Buddhism and some other far-eastern religions. This story seems to be one common to all branches of Buddhism, albeit to various degrees of prevalence and emphasis from my trip down the Wikipedia rabbit hole biref research. It's about a woman called Kisa Gotami.

I'll relay the story as I stumbled upon it and then share what struck me so deeply as someone decidedly Catholic.
